Welcome!
The Art program at Highline provides a sound foundation in the studio arts.
Courses fulfill humanities distribution requirements for the general interest student, as
well as offer students the opportunity to develop basic skills and experience for future
study in art.
Courses may be taken individually for self-enrichment or collectively as
part of the Fine Art Foundation program. Selected studio and art history courses may
also be used to fulfill endorsement as well as clock hour requirements for certified
teachers seeking specialization in art.
Course selections include seven basic areas of
study--drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, design and art
history. All courses are taught by professional, academically trained artists, in a studio
setting designed for each discipline.
