All Adult Basic Education (ABE) courses require permission to register. Most are continuous enrollment. There is $25 tuition per class. (Tuition can be waived.) GED Highline Community College is a testing center certified to administer the GED test through the GED Testing Service of the American Council on Education. Individuals 16 years of age or older may earn a certificate of educational competence with a satisfactory score on the General Educational Development test. Arrangements for taking the test may be made through the Testing Center. Special testing arrangements for students with disabilities are available. Highline also offers GED Test preparation courses.
Visit the Testing Center Web site to see about scheduling GED tests. CASAS Assessment and ABE/GED Registration To enroll in a GED preparation or ABE Basics Skills course you will need to take the CASAS assessment. The assessment takes approximately two hours. The CASAS assesses your reading and math skills. If you are an ESL student, it will also determine if you qualify for GED/ABE courses. During your assessment you will also register for classes. Please arrive 10 minutes early. You will need to know your Social Security Number and show a picture ID. If you are under the age of 18, you will also need to bring your GED release form signed by your school district administration. Friends, family and children are not allowed at orientation or in the assessment center.
